Design Story:
At its heart, bold yellow sunflowers rise like beacons of joy and vitality, their radiant petals symbolizing the sun’s warmth and the optimism that flourishes in Kashmir’s highlands. Surrounding them, clusters of purple and pink flowers—perhaps wild roses or lilacs—add a touch of delicate beauty, their soft hues reminiscent of the blossoms that dance along the valley’s streams. Tiny yellow blooms, scattered like stars, pay tribute to the region’s springtime wildflowers, their green leaves and stems mirroring the lush, verdant landscapes nurtured by the Jhelum River.
 
The plate’s blue border, framed with intricate patterns and golden accents, draws from the geometric and floral motifs of Kashmiri craftsmanship, blending Persian influences with the region’s age-old artisanal techniques. This border, cool and protective like the mountain air, preserves the floral narrative within, reflecting the artisans’ dedication to honoring their heritage. Each brushstroke, applied with the precision of Jos and Fine’s skilled hands, carries the patience and artistry honed over generations, ensuring that no two pieces are alike.
