Crafted in Kashmir
Kashmir valley is the birthplace of Cashmere. A valley nestled in the Himalayas, it's the only place where craftsmen and women can process exotic fibres into supremely fine fabrics manually using ancient tools.
Jos&fine's craftsmen and women have been carefully selected, have over a decade of craftsmanship experience on average and include many award winning artisans.
From raw cashmere in the wool store to the perfected garment on the showroom floor, Jos&fine's products are crafted using time-honoured techniques. It's one of the handful of companies that employs painstaking traditional processes from de-hairing of raw cashmere and slowly hand-spinning yarn, all the way to the final washing of the fabric in the Himalayan mountain streams, ensuring that the Pashmina Cashmere fibre retains its natural softness and the resulting fabric lasts decades.
Through systematic research and a comittment to pure excellence, Jos&fine has set new standards in the ancient craft such as being the first and only company to consistently hand-spin Pashmina Cashmere to an extraordinarily fine yarn counts of 175/2 nm (over 175 kilometers of yarn from 1 kilo of Cashmere), resulting in hand-crafted fabrics of supreme quality for the most discerning of clients.
Scripted in France
Jos&fine's heart is French while it's soul is in Kashmir. While the craft takes place in Kashmir, our company's ethos, principles and most importantly, our design philosophy is nurtured in our studio located next to the river Loire in Nantes. It's the unique combination of the French sense of design and attention to detail, with the ancient perfected craftsmanship of Kashmir, that results in products of supreme quality.
It's about re-living the old relationship between the home of modern fashion and Kashmir, a relationship that first brought Cashmere to the western world and has kept it in vogue ever since. Being the only western Pashmina Cashmere brand to directly employ artisans and manufacture all our products through our concern in Kashmir, Jos&fine has bridged the age-old gap between the market and the craftsmen and women.
